Dr. Evans was a founding member of the Corporate Diversity Committee, and conceived, planned, developed, and implemented a wellness program now known to be one of the best corporate programs while at Cigna Insurance Co. Likewise, he has established healing through outreach services that positively increase self-reliance, health and well-being.  Through Dr. Evans’ management consultancy company, Whole Life Associates, he has successfully designed and developed workshops and programs that teach behavioral modifications, which positively impact and re-direct actions to make sufficient healing, bottom line changes for increased wholeness and well-being professionally, personally, culturally, communally, and spiritually. As the Pastor of Morning Star Community Christian Center, he has brought the message of “wholeness” in mind, body, and spirit to the dynamic, growing membership and ministries of the MSCCC congregation.

    Dr. Evans has served as an active member on the Board of Directors for The Wellness Council of America, the National Association of Health Service Executives, and the Washington, D.C. Board of Education.  In addition, he has published over 30 articles in various health journals and newspapers, including the Journal of the American Medical Association, The New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of National Medicine Association, The Los Angeles Times, Health Quest, Ebony Magazine, Washington Post and Black Collegian Magazine.  For 10 years he hosted a 2-hour radio show called “LIFELINE” on WHAT and WHUR in Philadelphia, PA.  Dr. Evans is also the author of 4 exciting books, “What Are the Leading Causes of Life? A Prescription for Living at Your Highest and Best,’’  “How to Keep People From Getting On Your Last Nerve: A Prescription for Managing Stress,” “What in Hell Do You Want? A Prescription for the Spiritual Strength to Live Heaven on Earth,” and “From Purpose to Promise Driven Life:  A Prescription for Making the Difference You Were Born to Make;” 5 booklets called “Prescriptions,” the co-author of two books: “Lighten Up” and “Staying Strong.”

    Dr. Evans is the recipient of several honors, recognitions, and awards including three honorary doctorate degrees — Rust College in Mississippi, Bethune Cookman College in Florida, and Meharry Medical College in Tennessee.  In 2003, he was appointed to the faculty of Howard University College of Medicine.  He received the Distinguished Service Award as the Outstanding Alumnus of the Year for 2003 by Howard University College of Medicine and the 2003 Living Legend Award from the Louisiana Chapter of the National Medical Society.  He has been recognized by several cities with keys and/or days named in his honor.  Likewise, he was nominated by his alma mater, Howard University, to receive the Year 2000 Distinguished Alumni Citation, an honor bestowed on only 200 of the one million graduates of historically black colleges and universities.  He serves as Assistant Professor, Dept. of Community and Family Medicine at Howard.  In June 2005, Dr. Evans gave the opening prayer for the United States Senate and in 2007 he was recognized, and was recorded in the Congressional records in Washington, D.C., as a paradigm of community service and dedication by the US House of Representatives.

    Dr. Evans is married to the lovely Bernetta Jones, a graduate of New Hampshire College.  They have two sons, Therman Jr., Esq., and Clayton Ennis, one daughter-in-law, Monica and two grandchildren, Taylor and Mitchell.  Furthermore, he is installed as a Chief in the Village of Senya Beraku, Ghana, West Africa.

    Dr. Evans Is The Author Of Four Books, A Series Of “Prescriptions” To Maximize One’s Life Utilizing An Approach That Includes The “Whole” Human Being, Spirit, Mind And Body.
