We seek to educate, empower and inspire individuals to live healthy lives by focusing on mind, body and spirit.

To serve as a resource that enhances awareness through health education and outreach.

The Health & Wellness Team offers services that strive to equip the church and the surrounding community with everyday tools to live mentally, physically and spiritually healthy lives. The team encompasses General Practitioners, Registered Nurses (RN’s), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN’s), Nurse Practitioners, Medical Assistants, Certified Nursing Assistants, Dental Hygienists, X-Ray Technicians and Healthcare Administrators. The team is also comprised of a host of non-medical/healthcare professionals volunteering because of their passion, for the health and wellness of our community.

The Health & Wellness Team at Morning Star is active and on-the-move with monthly seminars, screenings and the distribution of literature to promote health education. One of the mainstays, known as “Healthy Sunday” focuses on health and/or disease awareness and education. The topics of these 45 – 60 minute seminars highlight and support a national effort. The seminar structure is lecture-style followed by questions and answers, which fosters open discussion by our in-house and/or invited medical professionals and the community. Some of the topics covered have included:

    • “Read the Labels” for Healthy Nutrition
    • Healthy Habits for a Healthy Smile
    • How to Manage Stress 101: Stress and Relaxation

All seminars are held after each worship service, fourth Sunday of every month.Health & Wellness also offers FREE blood pressure and FREE blood glucose screenings after each worship service, second Sunday of every month.
